Labor Day Weekend

Monday: Today we went to our favorite park---Sunset Woods Park in Highland Park (aka the "Circus Park" named by Alana for its colorful, large play areas)

Sunday: First we went to the "The last Fling" which is Naperville's annual Labor Day weekend fair. The kids loved everything. Alana drove the Barbie Car, all the while Xander was envying the Zeep. We promised he could drive the Jeep next year.

Ferris Wheel. I took Alexander but I vow never to take him again until at least a year from now. He would not sit still or listen the entire time, which is not good at 100 feet up in the air in a tiny little cart.

Alexander's first roller coaster ride. Thank goodness the kids don't take after me. They both love roller coasters!

Work in Progress

Our living room is just about fit for living: We have a couple of new finds from Craigslist, including a new velvet sofa with coordinating Persian rug. The sofa looks black in these photos but it's actually a burgundy color. Goes to show that we definately need more lighting in this room aside from our one poor little lamp in the corner. Now we just have to hang up the curtains, but that is a project for another day!

Kids being kids

I worked from home one day last week and took some shots of the kids just being themelves---silly. Alana was playing unicorn and Xander had to "catch the unicorn" by running around the house chasing her. When he caught her, at least she gave him pony rides:)

For months now, Alana has been really into "photography". She goes around snapping shots of what inspires her. Usually it's her my little pony's. I think she's maturing in her craft:)
